I know this post is old, but it caught my eye.
Right after Katrina, I had mentioned in the comments on Wil Wheaton's site that he should get
PokerStars to host a Katrina charity tournament. As far as I know, I was the first to mention it publicly on his site, but he was probably already thinking about doing it anyway.

All told,
PokerStars hosted four tourneys, and brought in over $127,000 in donations to Katrina relief. In the final tourney, Wil placed third. Not too shabby, really. He's a good player, and an even better person for putting that tournament in motion.
