Keep in mind that in online poker there are distinct differences as the stakes increase. In freerolls there are going to be a lot of bad beats for the simple reason that there are going to be a lot of chasers because chasing is funand if you don't really lose any money why not have fun.
It is more about the nature of the game than anything else like the decks being juiced or fixed.
Try this experiment yourself and you will see the results. Try to do it for fifty or so hands and record the results.
Deal out the cards to 10 imaginary players and have them all stay in the hands until the end and record the winning hands. So many st8s, so many flushes, so many full houses, etc. Also mark how many are won on a bad beat.
When you compare this to the same number of hands in an online freeroll you will probably get similar results.
If you play in higher stakes games a lot of the chasers will disappear and the game will play similar to live play.
In order to fairly compare live versus online you have to compare the same stakes. You can't compare a freerolll to a $50 buyin tourney. If you want to compare try playing a $50 buyin game and see if it is similar to the live tourney. You may be surprised.
