From what I know, TruePoker has a very good way of running their satellites. You can win your entry in a satellite for as cheap as FREE, as well as winning through smaller subsatellites or just paying the direct buyin to the satellite tournament.
Let me elaborate a little more on the free possibility. It is a promotion called WSOP4FREE, and I am such a strong advocate because it improved my game considerably. It all began with a round of 300 player tournaments (no entry fee!), 4 times a day, where you needed to qualify in the top 2 to receive an entry in the next tournament.
