You defintily have to shove after he raises you because thats what you wanted him to do by checking and the pot is already big enough to take down. Plus what iceberg said about the straighting board.

I think though that you should have raised right out after the flop hit. If you where playing that tight aggresive style they probaly wont think that the flop helped you unless you had AJ, so if you bet they would probaly would call any resonable size bet and then you can shove in on the turn because the pot will be so big.
