Often, when I have a hunch about a starting hand, I will ignore it and go with proper playing strategy, then growl when the hand would have turned into a flush, or straight, or trips. However, there have been plenty of times when I went with hunches, wound up overcommitting myself in a pot, and lost half my chips.
I try to stick to logic when I play, but I do occasionally play a hunch, mostly because it helps me be a little less predictable.
