Default Folding my AA post flop

This is an embarassing story because I know I can play better than this.

I was the short stack in early position and 4 players were left in the tourney.

I picked up AA and raised about 1/3 to 1/4 of my stack.
(Which was only about 2,3 times big blind)

Everybody folded except for the loose aggressive guy to the right of me.

The flop came out 9 8 2 and I bet out then he re-raised me all-in.

Before this tourney, I had read so much about a big pair getting busted by a set, and that "good players don't put all their chips with just a pair."

I just folded my AA and the guy turned over 77.

I know that overbetting the pot post-flop is a sign of bluff and if he had hit a set, he probably would have slow-played.

And 1/3 of my stack was in the pot.

Did I make a horrible play? And what are the criterias for calling an overbet post-flop?
