Pai Gow is an offshoot of Chinese Poker (only two hands).
I was going thru some old cardplayer stuff and came across the historical fact that they actually did award a bracelet at the WSOP in Chinese Poker one year.
A friend of mine was playing in one of the early WSOP events (she is Kathy Leiberts manager) alongside a well known pro who jumped out of his tourney seat and ran over to the cash games. When Tina asked what the heck are you doing.. his reply was "Phil Hellmuth just sat down and he Sucks at Chinese Poker and I wrote the book on it. Im going over to take his money!!!" |
