could you please state how this would be an OVERBET in this situation?

if you had bet preflop, get called etc and you bet out on the flop, you are probably now down to 7~8bb in a pot which has 10 bb

how is his raise going to be an "overbet" ?

if you meant he went all in for a significant amount of chips, it doesn't mean anything because you are the short stack, so the effective chipstacks of each of you are equal to the chips that you have, not what he has.
considering your stack size post flop after you bet, there's no raise that could be considered an overbet
