I like to raise big if i get a small pocket dealed to me. This, in my opinion, chases off those who may want to limp in to see the flop, or even pay a small amount to see if they hit anything. I don't like taking chances that someone will hit their ace, king, queen, etc, which will most likely beat my small pockets, unless i hit a set
. So bet big pre-flop to get rid of unwanted chasers.
