I'm gonna say that my favourite starting hand is obviously pocket aces or kings. First of all, you have an advantage of having the highest pair even before the flop, which is always handy. Secondly, even if someone hits a pair on the flop, you STILL have the higher pair, therefore still at the advantage

Furthermore, if you happen to hit your set on the flop-turn-river, you're pretty much good to go, because not only will you HAVE a set, but you'll have the HIGHEST one. the major threat to hands like these are flush/straight draws. But if you play your cards properly, bet when you should, raise when you should, check when you should, etc., you should be able to chase out anyone fishing for what they need, despite their odds
