I agree with ya.. I was just trying to provide a very basic starting guide... prolly won't make ya rich, but you shouldn't go broke eithre...
Believe it or not, after playing several 1000 hands of online poker, you WILL be able to read your opponent, even if you have never played them before...
Example of being looser.. your in the BB with 9

, every one folds and the SB just completes... you can raise here, depending on your stack and how you percieve the SB, most likely, he just wants to see a cheap flop.... you will know if he calls, he prolly has better than 9

If everyone folds to the blinds.. the BB now has position... this is important to remember.. your cards, plus position..
