I have learned that in Poker you have to take chances. I can usually get a FT one every 2 days if I try on a descent MTT. But then i usually get donkstrucked early in which happens but can be veyr frustrating. My strategy is obv to play agressive, but i like to play hands as cheaply as i can because you know that if you hit something you will get paid off, and if you dont it only cost you like 1/100th of your stack. I also like to minimize my bad beats, thus thanks to Phil Gordan and his little green book i try to stop the play before the flop happens or no the flop. Also you gotta remember not to be afraid to move all in. Its pretty helpful. Dont be afraid to reraise with AQ and like 1010 in position and stuff. I remember when i first started playing i only played like top 10 hands and kept calling other people donkeys for playing those crappy hands and they kept winning. Now i know why . Position is also a great factor, just great. One time blinds were 1000/2000 and 5 of us called and i just called on the puck, everyone checked it to me and i just bet the minimum 2000 and everyone folded. I was like ok score i'll take 10k in chips. Also another critical move in MTT's is the fact that you have to steal blinds. Stealing blinds is probably like #2 on important things to do in a MTT, obv #1 would be play your A-game. If you play way to tight you'll end up getting blinded out, and i bet it doesnt feel nice. I would rather now push all in with 27os against AA and take a chance than get blinded out. Usually after the blinds though i start to play a little tighter, and try to make sure no one sees the flop if I got a hand. Not by like going all in, but if someone raises and i got like AK i would probably push all in or make a nice reraise. A lot of times though people will try to bluff you out a lot and can be very useful for you. Oh also another thing. I will never just call or limp in early position with AA or KK. I keep trying to do that deep in MTT's and lose. I would atleast raise minimum but most likely 2.5x the blinds in early so i can get one caller usually. I think i've hit my MTT strategy pretty good. If anyone has any more questions about MTT well from my point of view let me know.
