First off thats not really true, there are alot of pros who have never read a poker book (example Mike Matasow who has only read one which was in the past year) and who learned from playing. With books you have to remeber that you can read all the poker books in the world but none of them will compare to the expeierence that you get at the table.
As for the book the best tournament books that you can read is the 3 Harrington on Holdem Volumes. He tells you everything he knows about tournament poker and does a really good way of prestenting in his books with quizes at the end of each chapter.
Although even though I have not read it (and Ive been meaning to) I have heard that Slansky's book on Holdem is a must read for cash game players.
Also if you have not read the SuperSystems I would strongly sugest picking them up. There always a good book to have read plus you get a bunch of different game to read about and you just might find one you like.
