One thing that goes through my mind is what I know, if anything, about the players who are still to act after me. If there are some aggressive types who are likely to raise with any decent hand, I'll probably give serious consideration to limping in. I don't want too many people in the hand of course, but if I'm confident someone else will raise it up for me, then I may well be better off camouflaging my strength for the moment.
On the other hand, if there's little or nothing to suggest this course of action, I'll simply make my normal raise - the exact amount depends how much the blinds are - and see what happens. |
