Default Breeder Cup at Churchill Downs

Breeders Cup Juvenille Fillies

Hey I made a few dollars yesterday when I backed Dreaming of Anna because my Dad's wife is called Anna. Now does that make me a "Racing" Donk. This was how it was reported on ESPN......

Dreaming Of Anna made all the running when landing a cosy success in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Churchill Downs.

Quickly away from her rail draw, the daughter of Rahy was handed a soft lead with jockey Rene Douglas able to control the tempo throughout this extended mile contest.

Octave was the only serious challenger in the straight but Dreaming Of Anna (100-30), trained by Wayne Catalano, galloped on strongly to take her 100 per cent record to four.

Cotton Blossom, trained by Todd Pletcher like the runner-up, was third.

"She's been training like she would go all day, I was not worried about the distance at all," Catalano told Racing UK. "We've had no problems with the distance when she's been working.

"Mr Calabrese (owner) has turned down a lot of money for her." Douglas added: "This is a special feeling. She's the best filly I've ever ridden and she's so good.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the Kentucky Derby next year rather then than the Kentucky Oaks. "She's only been working here for a week and although she's won, she's better than that."

Stan Moore's British raider Satulagi failed to go the pace and finished down the field. Her rider John Egan said: "She didn't get the jump with all that kick back as she was unbalanced on the paddock turn, but we learnt from the experience and we beat a few home."

Let's get lucky

Mick
