You're right Drago. I was reading through the posts thinking the same thing. You don't always play your cards, play your opponents. If you're in late position with no callers or raisers, throw some money out there. If you get a caller and they check to you, throw some more money out there. I'm not talking a lot of money, 2-4 times the blind should work. But if you start a bluff, don't half-ass it and check on the river, keep that steady bet going. A check is a sure way to get raised to and only does you any good if that is what you wanted to begin with, which if you did you wouldn't have started this thread. It doesn't always work, but if you only wait for premium hands you only have one way to win. If you pick up some blinds here and there, or hit on those unsuited connectors or worse, you're making some money. If you bet, you can win two ways, if you never play, you will lose. Checkers, callers, and folders never win. Neither do loose aggressive players. Any good player will wait for him to beat himself. You set the noose, they walk up the ladder, put it around their neck, and jump off...so predictable. You want to be tight and aggressive, but not super tight. People catch you in to many hands you shouldn't be in then they won't respect your raise. Play to tight and your way to easy to read. Remember it's all about position. Early position, fold most hands but the premiums, in middle add a few more starting hands, late, you can play many different hands. These are all assuming no one has opened before you. If so pay attention to their position. It may help you decipher their hand. In all cases, if you are first to act, raise or fold, never call. The only time I call is if it was raised to me and i was going to raise but now my hand is sort of disguised since they bet for me, and if I'm playing a loose-aggressive, because I can keep calling to a payday if I hit. I'm sure you guys know most of this, but I'm just rambling...
