Default I played this hand last night...what would you have done?

This hand bugged me. Not sure if I did the right thing. Maybe I didn't and could have gotten lucky, maybe I did and just didn't catch it. Anyways, it went something like this. I'm playing a cash game, I'm in the BB on a 9 seated table. One caller at the cutoff and SB calls. I have , I haven't been here long and am still feeling the table out, I check. Flop . Check to me I see the inside and flush draw so I bet 2x BB. Cutoff raises to 4x BB. SB calls, I call. Turn is . So now I see double gutshot straight draw with the flush draw. Check to me, I check, cutoff bets 6x big blind. SB calls. Now I'm thinking I have 17 outs, for the straight and for the flush. That sounded worth it to me so I called. River was a blank, cutoff bet again, fold, fold. Should I have stayed in after the flop? Should I have called after the turn with so many outs? Any advice would be helpful.
