My personal worst beat... Well i was in a tourney, nothin big about 45-50 players, and at the time i guess it was ok for public places like bars to hold tourneys for money. Buy-in was $20 and i was down to the last 4 or 5 players. At the time i'd like to add i was reading a book by ken warren on poker, some of u may have seen/read it. Someone i knew made it to the final table as well, and besides him i considered the other players to be morons. I dont even think they were aware of OUTS. They just knew they almost had somthing.....ANYWAY the hand. I get 88, and i'm right of the dealer, I 4 bet and everyone folds but small blind. Flop --K, 2, 8-- so i'm thinking GREAT!! No flush draw, no straight draw, no nothing. Just my set. He checks, and I make min bet. He raises and put me all-in. I obviosly call to see his 33. I know he's dead in my mind, so i don't mind the 3 that comes from the turn, but the quads on the river convinced me that god hated me. The fact that he raised all-in with 33 is enough to drive someone crazy, but THEN he says, "hmm, maybe u should keep reading ur books".
