I remember this exact same question was asked to Phil Ivey during the WSOP 2005 event. He was asked if his first hand was AA during the 2005 WSOP Main Event, would he go all-in or fold if he had 4 callers before him.

Guess what he answered!!! He said he would make that CALL.

I guess he was right in the sense that the field had over 5k players and in order to get far, he had to do very well from the beginning. Also remember the blinds escalate very quickly in WSOP Events.

In Slayre's case, i think he made the right decision. With only 10 players, you don't want to risk your tournament life when you can sit back and let others fight among themselves. I'm not sure what the probability would be of you winning that hand but folding is definately a safe option. Sometimes when making such laydowns i think to myself that i never got AA to begin with. Helps cool my frustration down if i figure i would've won every bit of that pot.
