It is expensive, I know. But when you use it properly, it can really pay off. You can easily analyze your play to find the leaks, and also having all that info on your opponents can come in handy when you're facing a big raise. (Does this guy bluff a lot? Check PT. Only play the nuts? Check PT.) When you add programs like
GameTime+ or
PokerAce to it, it becomes even more powerful, because you have that info right on your screen as you play.
Anyone who has PT, I really recommend you get
the guide. It explained to me how to really use the software to better my game. Now I just have to be good about doing it!
It's all about having an advantage over your opponent - you want to maximize every little bit you can. Reviewing your hands and your play as well as having info on how your opponents play theirs is just another way of doing that.
