I've talked to a few pros who play both Limit and no-Limit they consistently say is that Limit is the game where you have to be technically better in order to win. To excell at Limit you have to limit yourself to the best hands until you can get a read on other players. You have to take the time to understand who you are playing. You have to know who will fold and who is the calling station.
In no limit, calling stations do not last long. You can play 2-7os and win, because you can use a stack as a weapon. Anyone who plays Limit for longer periods knows you can do this as well in limit.
But in the long run the calling stations lose all their money to the slow consistant, technically superior players. Once you know how to play, obtain the discipline to play the hands you should be playing and fold those you shouldn't be, then you will become a good limit player.
Right now, all the newbie money is going into the low Limiit No Limit games because of poker on TV. A few years ago it was all coming into the 1-2/2-4 limit games.
I personally don't think limit is worth the time. |
