I'm not a big fan of rebuy tournaments either, but if you play smart you can usually do well at them. Sure, there will be people going all-in very frequently, and that's when you want to be in the hand with them, holding Aces or Kings, etc. The strategy they're using is they want to double up as much as possible, and if they go broke along the way, they can always rebuy. You don't want to rebuy, so you just tighten up and wait for the best moment to strike - and then you've doubled up without it cosing you a penny.
Takes a fair bit of luck, to be sure, but it's a solid strategy.
The ones I hate the most are the Turbo Rebuys (5 min levels) or even worse, Ultra-Turbo Rebuys (2 min levels). Those are just crapshoots!
