At times I fall into Phil Gordon's "Fancy Play Syndrome". Flops great for me, maybe even the nuts, and I get cute with it when i should just bet. When I have a strong hand I'm never content with just taking the blinds. It seems like a waste to flop a set and only win the blinds. I end up checking until either they make no hand and I just take it on the river, or my foolish checks result in him hitting runner-runner straight or something like that. |
