i was recently playing in a tournament in which the blind structure was going to soon be advancing to the point that forces significant action. however at the time of this hand the blinds were 1600-3200 in tournament chips. im in big blind with 14000. folds around to little blind who is an old man with about 11000 in chips. he raises me all in. i look down at a6 offsuit. this was an interesting hand because i usually tend to give older players a fair amount of credit and a6 is a dog verse ace better kicker and any pocket pair greater than 55. that being said, it is really only better than weaker high cards. however my "feel" on this hand was that this guy wasnt particularly strong. i ended up calling and winning ace high versus his k4 suited. sometimes its dangerous to try to push big blind when they have given no indication as to the strength of their hand and may not have even looked at their cards yet. |
