I can see why you have problems with pocket 10's but personally they are one of my favorite hands. When playing them you have to of course look at your position, chip stack and all that but basically here is what I suggest if your having bad problems with them. If anyone in front of you raises just make the call ( nothing else ). If it comes around to you and nothing has happened make a small raise about 4x the Big Blind. If anyone goes allin preflop get out. At best your going up against over cards which would mean a coinflip and there is also the possibility of someone having a higher pocket pair in which your really screwed. When someone goes all in preflop your usually looking at going up against some premium cards. See what comes on the flop. If the flop is all lower cards. Bet heavy and if someone else bets raise them big and try to keep them from catching. If higher cards come out get out if anyone bets. If your a more experienced player make your read and do whatever you feel is right but if your having problems with 10's just get out and save your chips for a better spot. If you hit a set and there are no obvious draws on the board you can slowplay and try to draw a bet. If there are any kinds of flush draws try to get your opponents out early and make them pay if they want to chase their draws. Basically you want to take down the pot quick and just not lose anything big with this hand. |
