Theres a few strategies in 7 card stud. First of all and most importantly, NEVER CALL IF WHAT IS SHOWING BEATS YOU. You could try to bluff, but I wouldn't even suggest that. Just take your loss and go on. A huge key in 7 card stud is the bluff. Flushes and str8 for some reason seem to be more common here than in Hold-em which is weird. A lot of time you will show 3 or 4 cards to a flush, but will not have it. Here you can bluff your oponent. Like if you first 2 cards up are suited you can bet out even if your weak. Obviously depending on the hand already. Then if the next card is suited and still doesn't help you, you can bluff again. The same goes for str8's...bluffing can be used more in 7 card stud because you show 4 cards that are your cards alone. Also too, don't get caught over playing a pair when dealt the first 3 cards. Unless it's high it isn't as good as it seems. Instead hands like A-J-10 or 6-7-8 suited are good starting hands.
