Clean up is good, also try a program called HiJack this - http://www.download.com/HijackThis/3...-10227353.html
You run it and it creates a log file, which you then post to a forum (such as http://www.pcguide.com/vb/) where people who know what they're doing will review the log and tell you what to kill.
I've done this several times and it's always helped.
