Some pros, J. Harmon for one, as expressed that they rely more on instinct than any mathematical formulas... I was relived to hear this, as, the math I use while playing is 3 fold.. Good chance, fair chance, no chance... the rest is pretty much instinct..
But April is right... your 'gut feeling' is most likely based on previous encounters of similiar situations... becareful tho, cuz relying on your gut, could get ya that 'punched in the gut' feeling...
