I would suggest going all-in. Although he did beat you on the coin flip its almost 50/50. You might as well take the chance there. I would play AKs vs anything except for AA just because paired kings do nothing there.

myself i hate calling large preflop bets unless i can feel the hand is mine no matter what cards i'm holding. but if you feel your cards are that good might as well go all in here or he will force you to do so anyway pocket pair never do me much good and an A will usually come out on the river. but hey ya never know it's all about luck of the fall anyway. the skill comes in when you hit what do ya do bet or check to them and make them think you dont have nothing and force them to bet into you.

I go all in in that spot especially since its a freeroll. AK suited is a pretty strong hand and unless he has a pocket pair your in very good shape. In a buyin i might just call.

In that exact situation if i get raised and i have AK of spades I would go all in every time. Unless the person is super passive and you know he only plays premium hands you have to go allin. Figure he probably has AJ or AQ. And if he does have a pocket pair its probably going to be 10 10 or J J so then you'll have a coinflip situation.

FR or not, isn't it about playing good poker? If I had invested time at the table I still want to play a good hand. I may be a little more loose in a FR but I would still want to win the tourney.

i'd have gone with the all in there. if you're not gonna play AKs against pocket pair, are you going to forever fold to pocket pairs just cause eit's a coin flip? there is also a chance he does not have pocket pair and is holding on to AJ AQ, then you would have him dominated. if you wouldn't have called with a stronger hand vs his pocket pair, say 10Js, then why lay AKs down.

i say push it AK is really good against a lot of hands and it is the 3rd bets hand in the game and actually try to remeber all the times youve had AK and all the times Someone has had AA or KK not to often Ak is a very strong hand and there is only 1 hand where you are truly dead which is AA and some people say that they like QQ over Ak but if you think about QQ has 2 and a half hands that beat it being AA KK or AK and sure you may be dominating others but in the far stages of the tourney i think AK would be safer than QQ.

Sometiomes i make a raise 2 or 3x BB.
Sometimes i just call.
It depends on how many players are playing nthe hand or on my position.
It's a very good hand which can bring you a lot of chips if it's played well.

Let me be like all the idiots I see online. Call any bet preflop then when nothing comes off to help you go all in and think your good. Then when you lose complaing that you had the guy dominated preflop, because preflop is all poker.
