Default AK your move?

blinds 500/1000
7 left in a freeroll you are second in chips on the BB table folds to the chip leader who is on the button he raises to 5000 sb folds

I have AK suited of spades your move?

You don't say how many chips you have. If that raise is a large portion of my stack and I've pegged the raiser as a solid agressive player, I fold. No need to risk a big chunk of my stack.

If it's not a big portion...might call, esp. if I think the raiser is a donkey.

5 times the blind is a big move and an extra $4k is a big portion of your stack. AK is a strong but dangerous hand. It all depends on how he has been playing. I would say you should call to call and then go from there. But if you call, you need to prepare to go all-in with any decent flop. If that is not an option than you need to fold.

What was the result?

Well since it's a freeroll...ALL IN. Why wouldn't you gamble with big slick when there's no buyin? Plus he's probably stealing, so I'd push this in a freeroll anyday.

FR or not, isn't it about playing good poker? If I had invested time at the table I still want to play a good hand. I may be a little more loose in a FR but I would still want to win the tourney.

5x the BB from the button, that looks like a pretty standard steal. I'd probably make a move here in any tournament, since he probably wouldn't have called 19k more. I make the same steal move that the chip leader made, so I'd make the attempt to pick him off. I'm against just calling it, because unless you're prepared to make a move on the flop you're going to get worked.

I pushed he called turned over 77 typical Titan i lose the the coinflip, but the flop come 8 J Q. A stop n go definitely would of taken that down. Call a big bet pre flop then when you are first to act post flop push no matter what hits push. Same as getting the chips all in pre flop, but this is where pocket 8s beat pocket 10s if a flop of A K Q comes, or AK in this case beats pocket 7s unless this kid is a tard.

I would push that hard with AK. Because if he is stealing then he will probaly lay it down to a reraise so you could make it about 15K to go. That way you can find out if hes stealing or not and then make your desion if he pushes you all in.

Another way you could go is just to lay it down because you said that you were second in chips so you arent in much of a hurry to make a big move here so why put your whole tourny on the line with just AK, which is still just a drawing hand and you still only about 65% to win against any random hand. I would just give it up and wait to fight another day agaist a guy who I have covered.
