Thumbs up No limit or limit hold em?

I have been playing strictly No limit 1-2 sometimes 5-10, at the casinos(atlantic city) and ofcourse online. However, since the emergence of the "all in'ers" the people that play so loose and luck seems to be paying off 40% of the time. Anyway I have begun to play limit hold em, which i must say is a whole differant animal in itself. I like certain things about it, 1- i am able to step up a few dollars in the stakes i was able to play at NL. 2- I cant lose too big on bad beats. However I am finding that I am not winning consistently at limit(1-2, 3-6) I am thinking I have to step up to 5-10 or higher limit, in order for my bets to mean anything, because everyone seems to be willing to be a calling station to the river at 1-2 limit. Is anyone else experienceing this aswell?

There are a ton of calling stations at $5/10, play $10/20 if you can feel comfortable because the play is much better.

Being new to this game, I have only played the nl tourneys at Titan. Are the limit games better? I seem to get stuck at tables where someone decides to go all-in every hand. The sad part is that it seems as if I choose to call them at the time when they have a hand that beats mine. I guess I'm just not good enough to try to do this yet but these people tend to get on my nerves. I can see doing it if you have a really good hand (I have done it myself) but these people do it every single hand. I know they can't be getting dealt great hands every time. I have also noticed that a lot of them start doing it with the first deal of the tourney. Does this happen a lot?

On freerolls and some rebuys all iners on the first hand is a common occurance not so much on titan though. I personally dislike limit its not them being calling stations because most of the time you are being offered the odds to chase your hand to the river.

thats very true, and is one of the hardest things to get around in limit holdem poker. I sometimes find myself calling ridiculous bets when I'm drawing to a flush or straight. but hey, thats how you have to play sometimes in order to win some $$$ in limit. its not the best hand after the flop that wins, its the best one after the river card is dealt.

No limit over limit. I don't like limit because it's just straight-forward betting, never really any bluffing, just who catches the best cards. Reading your opponent is also not really that important either because the betting structure is fixed, so you can't really tell how they play.

No limit all the way.

Very well said and exactly why I have started playing more limit games. Although I play much more NL than limit I actually have begun playing PL mostly. It's good because you can still bet a decent amount at times, but the guys can't go all in every time you turn around.

supposedly Limit cash games are the biggest goldmine out there.

because players are so loose and they tend to believe "it's just one more small bet", they tend to make wrong calls when they should fold.
while it may not seem much, things add up in Limit holdem, and all those small mistakes add up, while in no limit you can make it up by getting lucky in bigger hands
