Just busted out on a tourney...had QQ in about 15th place with 180 left playing. Top 50 paid. Bet 6x the blind. One call all-in with the same amount as me. Went for it. He had KK. I lost

I want to know what others think about my initial bet and my call.

Bro, thats just a bad beat, nothin you could do there, however i would have bet 4-5 times the big blind or maybe even 3 but either way, you have to assume that when he raised you all in he obviously had you beat, so 15th place, you didnt have much to lose you should of took the loss and folded. Thats where betting 6 was a bad idea, because you lost more than you had too. It would have been cheaper to fold there

I'm not sure i know what you mean when you say one call all-in. Do you mean someone pushed all in?

As for the move its hard to fold QQ, but it sounds like you were in good position in the standings and if someone re-raised all-in I'd be tempted to fold figuring even if he only has AK I'm at best a slight favorite. Of course it depends on the type of player doing the raising. Super tight I'm definetly folding. Very aggressive I much more likely to fold. Either way tough beat. Though I wouldn't call it a bad beat when he had you dominated from the start....

Chalk it up to a learning experience. I committed too much and didn't want someone to bully me. So instead I beat myself up here. It is hard to know how much to bet. There are people that tell you to bet high to get rid of the low card flops that beat you. But in this situation I bet too much and didn't want to give it up.

I think that is one thing I need to really work on in my game.

Yes bad timing, and a he got BEAT and beats suck and are bad lol

And I think emotion controll is naturally a large portion of my game that I need to put a cap on aswell.

I agree. I got beat and I need to remember that is part of the game. I also have beat others in similar situations. I just want to make better play with my cards in future games.

theres not too much you can do about that except smile and forget it.. QQ is the 3rd best possible hand u cant go in expecting someone to have you preflop.. you just got unlucky there

True, QQ is a strong hand. What I need to do is be smart and know when to fold. That is what I need to work on. I can't sacrifice the war to have a chance to win a battle.
