Theres a few strategies in 7 card stud. First of all and most importantly, NEVER CALL IF WHAT IS SHOWING BEATS YOU. You could try to bluff, but I wouldn't even suggest that. Just take your loss and go on. A huge key in 7 card stud is the bluff. Flushes and str8 for some reason seem to be more common here than in Hold-em which is weird. A lot of time you will show 3 or 4 cards to a flush, but will not have it. Here you can bluff your oponent. Like if you first 2 cards up are suited you can bet out even if your weak. Obviously depending on the hand already. Then if the next card is suited and still doesn't help you, you can bluff again. The same goes for str8's...bluffing can be used more in 7 card stud because you show 4 cards that are your cards alone. Also too, don't get caught over playing a pair when dealt the first 3 cards. Unless it's high it isn't as good as it seems. Instead hands like A-J-10 or 6-7-8 suited are good starting hands.

I dont know if this is mathematically true or not but it brings up another point about 7 stud (or any other stud game like razz or 8s or better). Its is very important that you can keep track of other players cards that they have already mucked. For example if you have 4 cards to a dimond flush and there where already 6 dimonds mucked by other players, you know that there probaly isnt a very good chace of you caughting one of the last three dimonds. So if you are chasing you can figure out if you have a mathematically correct decsion calling another bet to try to make your flush.

I pretty much agree with yearbook here. Bluffing is a huge part of the game and you can't just wait to catch a monster to win it because it won't work a lot of times.

We should have some 7stud's and omaha games sometimes.
That will be real fun.

I wouldn't want them as part of the league, but I agree, it would be fun to have those events just as a fun type of thing. I also wouldn't want to put a lot of money on it since Texas Hold 'Em is my game.

I'm pretty good and Omaha H/L, though.

I didn't say to have them in the league.
We could run them after the league will finish.
Just for fun. I think you'll afford a $1 buy-in.

Yeah, $1 or $2 buy in would be cool. Even a freeroll with 7-stud, which I'm not sure you can do, but it would be interesting. I'd like to see how versitile some of you are at poker.

I don't know where we can make a 7stud's freeroll.
