Default Sit n Go

I don't mean to sound stupid but what is a Sit n Go? I have seen people talking about them on the thread on this forum but being new to poker, I have no clue what they are. I have also seen the tab on the top of my Titan Poker main screen but I haven't been there because I have no clue what it is? I am hoping someone can also do a thread or even post a reply to this with the definitions of the common poker terms because, believe me, I have no clue what some of this stuff is. (It took me a couple of weeks to figure out Flop, Turn & River.) I still get lost on whether to call or fold. I have folded a lot of hands that I wish I had not folded - the Flop went right along with what I had in my hand. Is there a set in stone rule about that? I know someone on this forum replied to me that I should check when I am the BB (I figured that one out as well ) but other than that, I have a lot of times when I am not sure what to do.

Please give me advice - any and all is greatly appreciated.

No, I didn't post this just to get more points, I really am interested and I get lost when reading the threads sometimes because I don't understand what all the terms mean - for example, what is UTG?

A Sit'N'GO is a tournament that starts as soon as the proper amount of people sign up. They can be 6, 9, 27, or even 180 people in a sit'n'go. As soon as the spots are filled, the tournaments starts, hence the name, sit, and GO!

It is very important to know what the payouts are so that you can adjust your game to make the money. Typically in a 10 person SNG the payout is 50% for 1st, 30% for 2nd and 20% for third. In a 5 person SNG, I've seen 70% go to 1st and 30% go to 2nd place. Each site has different payouts.

Typically you would see a rake of approximately 10%, that goes to the site, some tournies are higher.

Turbo tournies have blinds that go up quickly (every 4-5 minutes) and are very fun and addictive.

Satellites are tournaments, where the winner(s) get an entry into a tournament (that costs much more money). WSOP entries are generally won by playing sattellite tournament(s).

Rake is the money the site takes in from the pot at the regular tables. Rake is only taken if the pot goes over a dollar on Titan, I believe.

Rake is also taken with the entry to each tournament. Like a $2+.20 tourney. $.20 would be the rake because that amount does not go into the tournament pot.

Basically rake is how these poker sites makes billions of dollars each year.

What SNGs you play? The 9-10 table SNGs usually pay the top 3. I usually like to get 4th in these events.

It's kind of a small tournament with only one or two tables.
We have a table for a SNG on Titan.
If you want to know how it is i think we can arange a game there.
