I thought I made a good pick with UNC-Wilmington over GW, especially with that 12 point lead through most of the second half, but that turned out hurting a bit. Good thing Gonzaga came back, I've got them sweet-sixteening and losing to UCLA.

I'm 10-2 right now, looking good except for Syracuse, I have them going to the sweet 16. Syracuse is down 37-28 right now as I am posting this with about 15 minutes left to play. :/

Other than that, I have Duke, Iniana, and Washington.

I didn't get into playing a bracket this year. While that adds a little fun to the game, it hasn't changed the intensity at which I watch the games. There have definitely been some amazing endings to games the first two days of the tournament. I can only hope to see more magic today as we round 2 begins.

I think no one should pick Kansas next year. Let them prove they can win in round 1 before you ruin your bracket with that pick - two years in a row. Wouldn't want to be returning to Kansas today.

My 1st round recap:

I nailed Goerge Mason over an over rated Michigan State team, which I am quite happy with becasue nobody was picking George Mason, especially with their best player injured, but I knew that Michigan State was not that good of a team and we're lucky to get the #6 seed. They were the #6 seed in the Big Ten tournament.

I also got Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which was no surprise to me. This is a very good team playing an over rated Oklahoma team coming out of the weak Big 12 conference. I don't think they'll make another appearance in the Sweet 16 like they did last year, however.

I missed on Kent St. over Pittsburgh, but no too upset about that. I was on the fence on that game.

Kansas and Iowa losing really killed me. I had Kansas going to the Final Four and Iowa going to the Elite 8. A shame Iowa couldn't win that game. They are a very dangerous team, but they need to learn how to beat bad teams consistantly. They lost to a bunch of bad teams this season. Kansas is unexplainable. They should have won that game and didn't play well at all.

Overall, I finished 25-7 in the first round which isn't too bad overall.

In the second round some games to look at:

Memphis and Bucknell. Bucknell is under rated, Memphis is over rated. Look for this to be a close game, I think Memphis will come out on top, though.

Gonzaga vs Indiana. Both teams are over rated. Gonzaga hasn't really played anyone all year, Indiana has been inconsistant. I think the Zags pull out this one in a close game.

UCLA vs Alabama. UCLA plays in an terrible Pac-10 conference. Alabama could give them fits.

Washington-Illinois. Which Illinois team will show up? The team that can play with the best in the country or the team that lost to Penn State at home?

Villanova vs Arizona. Arizona shot the lights out on Wisconsin at 60%! That's just crazy shooting. If they shoot like that again, even might Villanova may fall to Arizona.

Overall, it should be an interesting second day with a lot of good games on. Duke is killed GW right now in the early game 40-28.

My bracket is starting to fall apart. For one I had Kansas going to the final four and THEY LOST IN THE FIRST ROUND. I also had Tennessee going to the elite eight and of course Wichita St. knocked them off. And I had Illinois beating Washington, which didnt happen either. And also that was one of the strangest game I have ever seen. Talk about huge swings in the score. I think Wash was up like 12 in the first half and then IL came back and went up like 15 in the second half. Plus I think IL got a little unlucky with all those fouls that were called agaist them, cause they couldnt fight as hard with Wash in the double bonus and Wash only commiting 4.

Well I still got Duke beating Uconn in the chapionship game so mabye JJ can pull me out.

Default I could have

done amazing in my pool if a couple of the upsets i had picked had held now the only chance i have is if ucla goes all the way and north carolina meets them in the finals. i blew it putting my alma mater sdsu into the sweet sixteen although they totaly should have won that game. I also had xavier beating gonzaga another underdog that should have won their first round game only to choke when the victory was withing their grasp. I am pretty impressed with how ucla is playing they may be playing better than anyone in the tourney and gonzaga, duke and uconn look very beatable. The team that worries me most is Memphis although they are young they are by far the most athletically talented team since the running rebs, in my opinion, who had grandmama, augmon and greg anthony starting.

Lucky you, damn Iowa and Kansas.

I'm at the top in most of my pools, which is good, though. I still have 3/4 of my final 4 alive. Can't afford another big loss from a team I have going deep.
