i found that if you move up really fast and being careless you can win alot of money quickly in limit but you can lose alot quickly also anyone else try risking alot to try to move up and win some serious bucks by playing way outside your bankroll.

I risked and had a terrible luck .
But i enjoy playing limit more. I play it to get my bonuses from depositing.

If I'm playing ring, Limit is all I ever play. The only time I play NL is in tourneys.

Limit can be very profitable if you play smart. Obviously anyone stupid enough to play carelessly like you say will not make money in the long run. If you were to try your careless style, yes, you can get very very LUCKY and win some immediate short term profit. But if you continue that style of play, I can almost guarantee you'll lose it even faster than you made it...

Go buy the book "Small Stakes Holdem" and learn some good, sound strategy to winning at limit holdem.

oh and playing outside of your bankroll is not recommended. but i play outside of my bankroll all the time. I play low limit though, so the swings dont seem so bad. I can manage a steady profit.

I usually only play Limit games to clear a Bonus. Playing SNGs, Tournies and NL ring games (in that order) give me the best FUN for my buck.

LHE is really all that I play for ring games. I have found in to be very profitable. I usally play on the $.50/$1 games on Fulltilt. In the last month or so Ive made about $70. Too bad I blew about 50 of that on tournys and other poker games.

I am not a big fan of limit. While it is fun and less stressful because you cannot lose all of your money at any moment by a bad beat, it is all frustrating.

You cannot use all of your tools for strategy as in NL.

I played a limit tourny the other day and it allowed too many people to chase to the river which can on a bad day make the donk factor harder to over come...I led the tounry most of the way until the last 15 players then twice got aces and a stra8 that I flopped cracked on the river by someone who had nothing until the river but they were willing to get that far then bet the tourny away on a miracle card and each time they got it....in no limit I would have bet them away from the pot at the flop....not a fan of limit

I can't stand limit. I have to agree with mike the mouth about limit holdem where he says you a great limit holdem player(best at the table) can only be winning 65% of the time when he is leaps and bounds above everyone else sitting by him. While a great NL player when he is leaps and bounds above everyone else sitting by him can have a winning session 100% of the time. I hate limit its a showdown fest at the lower stakes just call down and see what happens.

I think at the lower levels it is a flop frenzy with everyone calling to see the flop. But going up to the mid-level takes some of this away. I think the loose calls at the lower levels makes it more profitable in the long run though.
