Default To slow play poket AA's??

Some ppl say never to slow play AA's. I disagree but u have to know when to apply presure and to play it calm it just takes practice. Dont listen to ppl and never slow play.

I rarely slow play a monster hand because TRASH KILLS. If the flop comes out coordinated and you're the type to hang on to those Rockets, you will get it in the Jewels sooner rather than later. I'd go with a strong pre-flop raise 99% of the time. (That being said, I will slow play them in this Sunday's tournie, lol)

I would say that you need the right situation to slow play Aces. Like if you were under the gun I might say never slow play them unless you have a loose table and you know someone will raise so you can reraise to isolate them.

I like what you said about not listening when people say you should never slow play them because it all depends on the situation, there are really no set guidelines in poker, because no poker hand can be exacally the same.

I had this situation just last night, in a live game. I was in late position with AA and raised preflop after a few people had called the pot. Everyone folded out, leaving the blinds and a few bets, and the player preceding me said that he would have stayed in if I had not bet as hard. He said he put me on rockets because I pushed too hard, and he was right.

So, that experience told me that betting big with rockets in that position bought me the pot, but it also killed the action. If I had slow played, I would have brought in a bigger pot.

It may have brought you a bigger pot but if may have not got you the pot at all, mabye next time just dont bet as hard, but I would not want there to be acouple of other people in the pot with me if I had

I think those horrendous bad beats we suffer when holding rockets (and slow-played them) lead some of us to be gun-shy about doing so in the future.

I play them differently depending on my table position, the amount of chips I have, the amount of chips my opponents have, and how tight or aggressive my opponent play pre-flop. It always seems like I either get paid off big time when I slow play aces, or I get punished for doing so.

It's the ultimate risk-reward scenario. I wouldn't go as far as to say you should NEVER slow-play aces. However, you should do so with caution, and only do so when you can take advantage of weaker opponents, or loose players.

Heres a little story though the outcome would not have been changed regradless of how i played the hand or at least thats what i like to tell myself. Calling station triple barrel bluffing idiot in a 3 dollar PP tourney limps, 100 left 1400 runners, i'm dealt AA i elect to smooth call OTB after 2 limpers with the tardboy in it. Flop 2 5 6 he bets i once again call everyone else folds. Turn 2 he bets huge again i once again call. River 7 he pushes i instant call he turns over 77 MHING and i'm busto, now i'm not sure if i can get him to fold on the flop or not if i raise PF and push the flop or bet out a BIG BET then get it AI on the turn i doubt i would of (3 dollar tourney overpairs and TP are the nuts) but i still have doubts or as to what would of happen if i didn't play it like a retard . Slowplaying aces is a good way to lose a bunch of chips as Doyle says you either win a small pot or lose a big pot with aces or kings.

My feeling is that online poker creates many more big hands. Slow playing AA, as long as there aren't many in the pot should mathimatically be correct. It is 50:1 for someone to flop 2 pair. Against me online heads up when I have AA it is about 3:1.
Online don't slow play anything. Live well that is a different game and you need to play differently.
