Perfect live poker number

Just curious as to what you all think is a perfect number for live poker. Assume 20 dollar buy in.

Several buddies think the more the better. Me (the usual host), like a smaller number, like 7 or 8.

What's your alls take on the perfect number for live poker? and whats the buy in?
