Default Punted Dialup

I finally punted dialup service for DSL. I was using a $10 per month dialup, but now DSL is very cheap. I signed up for the ATT (SBC) DSL service for $13 per month and it seems to be about 5x faster. I signed up online and they sent me a DSL router with WIFI capabilities. The router costs $80, but they give you a $50 rebate, so the net cost is $30. Sweet deal and now my land phone is available while I'm online.

I understand that this deal expires after 12 months, then the rate is $30 per month. BUT my work buds tell me that they are still paying the $13/mo even after 3 years. Anyone else use this service ??

I wish the same was true. My introductory service changed after 6 months. I don't mind what I pay for comcast though. The speed makes it all worth it.

I took advantage of a Verizon deal a little while ago. Fiber optic cable, free router, and free installation! I think I pay about $34 a month for the service (plus I kept my AOL account). But the free router and installation were great for me. And the Verizon customer service has been great, for the most part.

Well, godlikev is not in the U.S., unless I'm mistaken, so that might make a difference.

WOW iceberg, how where you playing with dialup? How long did it take you to download a casino, like 12 hours? I guess you couldn't be playing in 2 games at the same time. You must be loving DSL now.

When we going to see you in a league game?

Yes, I confess that I was multi-tabling, while dialing up. And also a reason why I only stuck to a playing the Micros at most a couple of Poker Rooms at any time. I never knew when the system would crash on me.

On the plus side, I did develop a lot of patience during those 12 hour downloads. Bouncing a softball off my walls and humming Kelly Clarkson tunes helped pass the time.

Unfortunately the wifey also discovered ebay. So I have to arm wrestle her for the computer (she cheats alot) and I lose (j/k). She also thinks that one poker night per week is more than plenty for moi. So sorry, can't play much other than my regular Sunday nights.

Guilty minds can't play poker. Believe me I've tried.
