Was just wondering if its at all possible to get a chat room on this site. I see plenty of daily users online during the same times, and thought live chat would be cool to BS in a true BBP fashion...

Wow, trip, I think that's a great idea--I find myself using the PM feature to talk to other members on at the same time as I am, and that's a cumbersome way to go about communicating.

We have so much fun chatting during a game, think of how we could go at it with no poker to distract us!

Me too. This bulletin board software has at least one chat module available: 123 Flash Chat (link). It costs money, though. If BBP's ISP has that module (and doesn't charge him for it), it would be easy to turn it on. Or maybe the ISP has a separate chat module available that we can just link to from here.

It would be nice if they integrated, though.

I'm looking into setting up one guys. I'm sure it will be great and specially when we are close to starting a tourney, this will be a good place for last minute discussions..

Is there any concern that it might reduce the amount of posts on the board? And if it does, is that really an issue, as long as people are participating?

It would be much more convenient for threads just such as this, but it might be inconvenient as far as referring back to old chats. Currently, you can pull up old posts for clarification on something, but you wouldn't be able to do that with chats.

Don't get me wrong, I still think it's a great idea, but we should consider the entire picture.

Don't worry Lyt..i see the chat room as a place for our daily gibberish talk...discussing hands and strategies and other poker talk will still be done on forums..and if something doesn't look rite, i can always disable the chat
