Default Opinions Please..

I've been playing live games here at home with blinds $0.25-$0.50NL, i do

I do farely well, but I mean its just with the same group of people all the time.

Which I pretty much know what each player style is. With on-line, its

with strangers and all types of styles. Im assuming your a successful poker

player majority of the time. Which style do you think is mostly likely to

succeed while playing on-line?

Loose Passive? Loose Agressive? Tight Passive? or Tight Agressive?

The old rule is: when the table is playing tight, you play loose, and when the table is playing loose, you play tight. Although every circumstance will be somewhat different, that rule has served me well many times.

If people are playing very tight, they are less likely to take chances. So they will often fold to the raiser unless they've got the nuts. So you may be able to win hands with nothing but the right bet.

If people are playing loose, then they're playing any two cards. And your great starting hand, even AA or KK could be beat by somebody making two pair on the flop with 3, 9 offsuit. So best to wait until things calm down before getting too caught up in the madness.

I agree with Think; it really depends on the characteristics of the table in question. Sometimes even in the same tournament it's necessary to adjust playing style when the tables get shuffled. One playing style won't get you through the whole tourney and into the money.

Hold'Em is a very fluid game. It's possible to do well just by playing top hands, but it's not likely to win a tournament. That's where the fluidity comes in. Based on how the other people at the table are playing, one must adjust playing style to compensate.

This is something I know in theory, but I have a hard time putting it into practice sometimes (as I'm sure everyone here will attest.)

TAG when you are first starting out because it is easier, but a lag play style is definitely the more profitiable of the two. LP/TP are terrible and do not and i repeat do NOT play either of those styles the key to success in NLHE is aggression aggression and aggression.

Reminds me of my old football coach Hit, Hit, Hit (the sled) !! I like passive aggressive. Wait for a good hand, raise going in, then when you get a good flop start hitting the opponents.
