Default Playing only SnGs

does anyone here only play sngs/mtt and just don't play cash games. To me, you have to play cash games to make money. Sngs take 1 hr per each and even if u multitable you cant concentrate that well. Can YOU REALLY make a living playing sngs only

I don't like playing ring games. I prefer SnGs or tourneys because there's more of a strategy element (and there's also a clear end to the game.) Ring games become boring to me, though I think you are probably right that it's possible to make money faster in ring games.

Yes. Right. The big money are made at ring tables but in my opinion u can make a living playing only SNGs. It's not my case... cuz i play low buyin but i have friends who are playing 50-100-200$ buying SNGs. And MTT is another good source of money... If u have a little strategy and you play calm you will sure take some money...So...sit back, relax & win. Cya at the tables

PS : Excuse my english plz cuz it's not the best.

I grind SnGs, and play MTTs and do quite alright by my standards. Yes you can make a living playing only SnGs, you can also make a living playing only MTTs..Anyway i don't think anyway here plays poker fulltime as their job more as a hobby with monetary benefits, unless i'm mistaken.

I enjoy Sit N Go's because it becomes fruitful to really watch your opponents and figure out their betting habits(which everyone has).

In ring games or MTTs people are constantly shifting around that I never even bother trying to concentrate.

Also, the biggest advantage to Sit N Go's is that one bad beat can't bankrupt you! The most you can lose is whatever the entree fee was, which is a HELL of a lot better than losing your whole bankroll!!

As for money-making, I'm relatively new to online poker, but I think the real money is to be had at low-populated or private MTT guarantees.

Each method has it's advantages and disadvantages, I like to switch it up!

I actually play ring games, MTT's and SNG's and i make money out of all of them. Earlier today i played in the 10$ MTT 1,750 GP and took 8th. I prefer to play MTT though because that is where i make the bulk of my money. I make good money on SNG'S. But yes there is the face that on a ringgame your forced to lose whatever you put on the table. But you got to put on the table what you arent scared to lose . SNG'S require less patient just more skill. You have to study your oponent and make correct calls and now. MTT's take a lot of skill but also take quite its share of luck as well. I tend to play 3-4 tables at a time usually 2-3 ring games with 1 MTT, or 2 ring games/1 sng/1mtt, or 4 ring games, because usually there arent enough MTT's for me on titan. It all depends on how you feel about the game as well. Like i have multiple styles that i have to use specifically in 1 ring game or a SNG to make sure im getting the most amount of chips or money as i can with minimum loss. But if people are starting out i would most definitly recommend playing only SNG'S its a good way to start building up your bankroll till you start winning a lot of them and feel comfortable. Just make sure you use correct money management skills or you could lose your bankroll on those SNGS in one day

You can do just fine specializing in any one of ring games, SNGs or MTTs. It's primarily a matter of being a sufficiently better than average player at whatever level you play so that when the variance effect cancels out over the long term, it leaves you with a net profit.

i don't play ring games.. i play only S&Gs, HUPs tourneys and MTTs..
and you're right when you say that big money is out-there on ring games.. but i just can't handle the pressure of playing there.. i like to study my hands, read the opponents, play mathematicaly.. to play on ring games, if the minimum ammount of playing for ex on 1/2$ table 40$, you must bring 180$ and you must be ready to risk all ammount on one hand!

to play there you must have a goal.. is that to double-up your ammount you brought to the table, triple up and GET OUT from there, or something else.. when i played there i didn't have it.. i started to play ring games to redeem points and clear my deposit bonus on titan.. i always tripled, then i say: let's stay one more round, to get more titan points, then i'm dealt a trouble hand like QQ or KK.. and i'm toasted with str8, set, or ace-rag..

i play poker for hobby, not for living (for now), but i realized that big money can be made by only playing poker.. but winning big money in poker includes playing NL ring games.. i make from 150-300euros a month, playing only low s&gs, mtts, and hup low buy-in tourneys (i think i reached the skill to get in into bigger buy-in tourneys - and i will really soon).. and i'm pleased with my winnings.. i have fun and earn extra cash.. what else do i need?!

i think i need more cash!!

Ah your doing fine Dolva, i actually make about 1,000$ american a month from my ringgames, and more if I play some MTT's and kick some butt which is always nice. I know alot of people who cant even make that much so its definitly good. More money though means you can make more money or lose it, just gotta make sure your comfortable at what your losing.
