Do you ever find yourself just getting absolutely garbage cards some days and no matter how conservative you play you just cant win. I swear this happens to me at partypoker so much, i mean one day everything hits i mean everyday then the next i can win a hand for the life of me.

Yup, I know what you mean. In the Titan freeroll on Saturday afternoon, I felt like I was playing in an aternate universe of poker. Every time I had rags and threw them away, I would have made 2 pair or something more dramatic. Every time I got a good hand and tried to play it, somebody would beat me with trip 2s or a low straight. Like that episode of Seinfeld where George did everything the opposite of what he normally would do, and it kept working out, I guess that's how I should have played. But I just couldn't make myself do it.

I found that happened to me alot on Party Poker too. It got tired of it so I decided to venture out to other rooms. I don't seem to have it happen to me as often at other sites. But then again, I haven't played the other sites as much as I have Party Poker

I just hate these "bad karma" days...There's nothing more annoying than a day when you just can't win anything no matter how hard you try or how good ur hands are...I guess it's just part of the game but it's freaking annoying

I know how it feels, I have had weeks like that before, where I will be getting horrible cards, and fold them before the flop, and end up I would have flopped, two pair or a full house!! It turns around, its all about the variance. I turned it around in just one day, with a $100+ payout in a MTT when I finally started hitting cards! There are just some days no matter how good you play, you wont win, the cards wont let you!

of course you need to have poker gods with you.. by my opinion here is why they are needed for winning money and tourneys:

1. first of all you need good cards..
2. you need to hit something if you have good drawing hands like big slick or AQ..
3. if you have marginal hands, like low pp and suited connectors you need to hit third card or str8
4. if you're on draws on flop and if you have good odds of calling bets you need to hit them. draws can be deadly
5. you need to win important coin flips at the tourneys
6. to don't lose hands where you are big favourite (like PP against lower pocket pair)

if you have half of these factors, and if you play solid, you'll finish in the money
if you have all of these you will be the winner of the tourney
if you have none.. or if you don't have last one.. you're first at the door

you must to catch your day.. and of course there are days when you can't win, and there are players you can't beat

This is absolutely true both on online poker and in live poker. Its just like everything in life. There are days when you are lucky and there are days that nothing seems to go your way. Even the greatest poker players have days when they have terrible luck and there is nothing they can do about it. WHen you are having a day like that the best thing you can do is quit playing. I know to many people who when they are having days like this just keep playing over and over again and get reckless trying to win their money back and end up losing big time.
