It seems that Gus Hansen has recently joined the FTP team. He used to be with Poker Champs before. Anybody know whats goin with his life? It's been a while since he's made news..

Oh there have been news, oh yes there has. He keeps on getting bankrupted from his gambling addictions. He hasnt been winning to much neither, so people have been sponsring him places and such. I hope he gets out of the addiction and wins more money on poker because hes an amazing player.

I do not know of this Daly character but hes exactly like Mike Matusow. Great poker players, funny styles, horrible gambling addictions. Apparently he keeps on getting staked into stuff. I really love the way he plays and love watching him too, i was sad when i heard he got knocked out of the WSOP already.

John Daly is a professional golfer. He's known for his gambling and substance addictions, and it has made his game (and temper) very unpredictable. But when he's on, there is no one with a more powerful swing than his, from what I understand.

Yeah yeah John Daly, didnt he win something huge in like 1992 i think i remember that. Im sure i remember him from a couple of times playing golf. Dont know why i thought that maybe he was a poker player lol.

going back to the topic of Gus Hansen.

i was watching him play on Full Tilt the other day, he dropped 100k in less than 1 hour to Allen Cunningham and the later joined Phil Ivery. He was playing 1k/2k Limit Omaha Hi/Lo.
apparently from what i read he dropped atleast 300k in the days before that.


now i'll have to reconsider whether Gus is my favourite player....
he's a great tournament player, and very aggressive one.
but now that i think back his sucess and his aggressive plays were so accompaned with getting great flops at the right moments...
and his performance in cash games doesn't seem that great.

hm sad to hear that. Through tv poker you get a lot of respect for these guys but in real life they're just normal people with addictions too. Playing such tables is ridicolous and I think although these players may have a lot of money it's just too crazy to ever play them.
Anyone seen High Stakes poker? I'm not sure if the series is for real, but I really think this is one of the sickest thing ever done in poker...

i see Jim Meehan in Tunica all the time. He's a real nice guy but he plays like every hand. We were playing at a 5/10 table and he sets down and plays like every hand for like 6 hours straight. He left up a little so didn't bother him. LOL

Yeah I seen Hansen on Fulltilt. They gotta give him an avatar soon. Right now he's the gecko. Seen Matasuw, D'Agostino, Juanda, and Hansen at the same table the other night. Some of them had a stack of 100K so it was pretty active on Fulltilt. Think about it one table on Fulltilt has more cash than all the players on the ipokernetwork ring games. Very impressive!
