Unhappy Bad call?

Do you ever find yourself making a bad call, and you know it? But you just can't stop yourself from doing it?

You know the other player made trips, and your two pair (as lovely as they are) are no good. Or you know they made the flush. They make a big bet. You know you should fold. Your brain is saying "Fold! Fold! Fold you idiot!" But you click the button to call. Or worse yet, re-raise.

I seem to be going through a stretch where I can't stop doing this. Anybody else experience anything like this?

I have done this many times before. In fact, the last time you knocked me out, I did that. Remember how I typed, "I'm already committed. Good play, Thinkerbell" (or something like that)? I knew by the strength of your bets that I was beaten, but the stack I had left after calling your bets was too little to do much with, so I took the chance. I knew I shouldn't have, but I did.

C'est la vie, oui?

Got me beat. I barely remember how to count. I remember my German from college much better.

Knowing when to fold is all part of the Poker growing pains. I've been through that cycle many many times. I'm a slow learner. Judging by your previous finishes, dust off your "derrierre" and you'll bounce back.

i watched that play.. it was really obvious there that you were against set..
but all we do that sometimes.. i think we'll improve with more experience..
sometimes i made bad calls and won big pots.. but in 99% of chance, i'm beaten but i really can't fold..

Thinker,
That is part of the learning process and i'm sure everyone goes through a similar phase...once atleast. When i don't feel confident, I know I'm not gonna play good. Best advice: Take a break and re-think about how and why you lost the hands. One good thing about Titan Poker now is that they provide hand by hand histories of previous games.

BBP is right you should take a break (about 10 days I'd suggest) and re-think your play. Maybe do some reading and just take a nice little break from cards from general. This poor play is costing you money and you need to regroup yourself and the only way your going to do this is taking a nice little break.

Of course, the 10 day break wouldn't have anything to do with the coincidental end of the league, right, track?
