Default how to play against bad beats?

i played in a 1500$ tourney on titan poker.. this post is not about me, i finished in 18th place at last - with craps i got all tourney it was a good result! this post is about something other..

after 20 minutes i went to info and found a well known name leading that tourney - bigpimp (you all remember that guy from bbp tourneys).. he had about 10k of stack.. every next time i looked he was always raising his stack..

after i got out i went to eat, then back in my room... the final table started and the chip leader was - you guess - bigpimp.. he entered final table with 100k stack.. i was really wondering how he made that stack and started watching that table.. at the end he won the tourney leaving me and the others without words.. i was really shocked... i know him from some other tourneys when he always won with a marginal hand over my premium.. and believe me that i was 100% sure that he will win this tourney!

what i saw there is for guiness book of records.. it was really impossible.. he won every hand he moved.. AJ vs AK - j on river, 54 vs KK - str8 on river, two str8s with 4 cards, A6 vs 88, Q7 vs QJ - 7 on river, and about 15 other hands where he was about 30% or less (all moved preflop)! grand final was in heads-up when he called a preflop move with Q3 vs A3s (they got 3 on flop) - he got his Q on turn.. we were really in doubt that he is some kind of hacker or he works for poker room.. it is not the story about him.. losing constantly like this is really frustrating, and only watching that let me think to stop playing online poker! it happens to me all the time.. i'm playing good, make my stack, then make a raise with premium hand, somebody moves with K7 for ex., i lose..

how to get over bad beats when they are happening in a row, and how to play against players who are hitting every hand whole touney?

Ahoy, this has happened to me sometimes too. Usually i dont go on tilt but the second i realize im on tilt i stop playing poker and think about my g/f and it makes me smile. I also try to sit down somewhere not near the computer and watch a movie, or do something comforting, go outside do something. Usually thats what i do when i rarely go on tilt. But hey everyone has there breaking point.

Now for the other question how do you deal with these guys, i would be over agressive with him. To get him out of hands and pots. The best thing you can do is get your money in with the best hand and hope it all works out and in the long run it will. This pimp guy... wait a minute i hope it wasnt the same guy i had to face before, what was the guys name your talking about fully? But anyways if you lose with the best hand then your just unlucky. Nothing else you can really do but be over agressive against them imo.

To the End!

He's talking about BigPimpinNDA. I think there may be numbers behind his screen name, but I don't know what they are.

When he was crashing our leagues, I watched just how often he caught lucky cards on the turn and river. It was uncanny. Considering the fact that he *always* had the password, and almost always caught the cards, I really think there is some way in which he was cheating, but I don't know what it was.

As for dovla's question, if he was cheating, there's probably not much to be done about him. However, in the case of the all-too-common aggressive donkey, I agree with Ivan about fighting fire with fire. I also agree that it's important to be aggressive when you know you have a good hand.

yeah.. that's the guy i'm talking about, who can forget him

i really don't know.. if anyone been there to watch that, it was really unbelivable.. i think he lost 2 or 3 minor pots on final table, but after loss he was paying it back with big interest (usually kicking somebody out with his 47 hitting the str8 allin preflop). last hand - they were even stacks.. he called a move with Q3 off vs A3 hearts.. after that 3 on flop, he normally gets his Q .. (other guy had flush draw too, but - you can't beat bigpimp!) don't know how somebody can cheat in online poker, and i really don't wanna know.. but the ammount of luck that guy has is much higher than NORMAL! and you're right he always has a pw.. and for bbp tourney is really hard to get it, because pw is announced 5 mins before start, so you have only 3 min to open a forum, see the pw, and register!

and yes.. you must be agressive vs guys like him.. but you can't beat them.. many of them tried that night .. he crashed kings, aces, flush draws, big pps, AK .. everything! if he has a lower pp he gets his set.. if he had two undercards over a big pp he cought the str8, if he had one overcard he got it, even if you think he is broke, and no way he can win that.. he cought flush or str8 with 4 cards
