I've played several of these, actually. I played five of them right after they were announced, and there were 10,000 people in each one. After I saw this message the other day, I played another one, and it was much more manageable ... only 6000 people!

I still have a bunch of FPPs to play with, so I'll give it a few more shots.

Actually, i don't like them either. Way too many players...I'm trying my luck in the Party Poker Monster freeroll now.

skill can only get you so far when there are that many people playing and that money rounds you are bound to get a huge bad beat. I actually lasted pretty far but like 20 people away from moving to next round i get aces and guy calls with AK and flops a straight.. go figure lol

I just played one of these tonight and did pretty well. The tourney had 4289 entrants and I came out in 224th. I was doing well until I went all-in with AA55x against a player with a smaller chip stack. He had flopped an A high straight, and I didn't hit any cards to make a boat on the turn or river. I doubled him up and lost my stack down to about 8,000. With blinds at 400/800, $50 ante, I didn't have much time to make anything happen, and lost on pocket 2s.

I'm encouraged by how far I got, though. 95th percentile is not too shabby.

yeah great job lyt. to make it that far with that many participants is very impressive. you were either playing really well or didnt get hit by the one of their crazy hand early where like 3 people all have monster hands.

No, I missed the cutoff, unfortunately. It was encouraging, though, to finish that close to the cutoff.
