assumng you had 10bb, and you raised 3 bb, you get called.
since you acted before the other guy post flop and there's 4 people in the game, i'd put it that the other guy is the button, you were UTG

you raise 3xbb, he calles, blinds fold.
there's 7.5bb in the pot, how much DID you bet?
you have 7bb left, you probably bet 3bb, he went all in. now there's 13.5bb, you have 4bb left to put in the hand.

that's enough to explain it, your pot committed and it's an obvious call.
seriously, not busting out with lone AA applies to early on in the tourney when you have a large chip stack with small blinds, at that situation busting with lone pair of aces is stupid
but you are down to 4, you are short stack, you are pot committed and blinds are high, obviously you chose the wrong time to try and think smart.

if you had bet preflop, get called etc and you bet out on the flop, you are probably now down to 7~8bb in a pot which has 10 bb

if you meant he went all in for a significant amount of chips, it doesn't mean anything because you are the short stack, so the effective chipstacks of each of you are equal to the chips that you have, not what he has.
considering your stack size post flop after you bet, there's no raise that could be considered an overbet

If you are short stacked with pocket aces you have to call all in with your aces and hope that you are in the lead and hold on. I would take my chances with pocket aces short stacked anytime

I would have gone all in preflop at this stage with the aces and hoped for a caller. I never fold after the flop with Aces either unless there is a str8 or flush opportunity on the board. If you are going to be scared off all the time by the chance of trips how can you even play since in any hand the possibility for trips is there and you would have to cave to every big bet.

I've never understood why some players say it is best to fold ace king in an all in situation, unless it is critical to making the money or very bad positon. If your not willing to put your money in with ace king. Then, you must get ten times better cards than any one else. I've just noticed this agreement on alot of posts on the forum.

i am sryy to say but u made a horible play bud. You got to call allin with that. Even if you think he could have the set. which is unlikley in that position i think. I would have put him on a pair like he had or A 9 or somthing. But you know more than me so mabey u picked up on somthing. You still won some money though right? So its ok

Next time, when I'm short-stacked, I'll just go all-in preflop with AA .

A funny thing about AK actually. In this tournament, a LAG re-raised all-in preflop against 2 opponents including me when I had AKs and I instantly called. He showed KK. Now I'm thinking if someone who is an average stack and rarely goes all-in preflop suddenly decides to make a re-raise preflop play must have something better than AKs ..... Anybody's opinion???
