| "We had seven players last year, and this year we had thirteen. I look to have better than twenty next year. It's even liable to get up to be fifty. Might get up to be more than that; it will eventually." -- Benny Binion, as quoted in Mary Ellen Glass' 1973 work Some Recollections of a Texas and Las Vegas Gambling Operator Read full article at http://www.blindbetpoker.com/wsop/2005wsop.html Last edited by Shaun : 08-05-05 at 11:45 AM. |

| The most surprising thing to me is that Raymer did it again, Ivey is a world class player, and in my opinion the best in the world. I thought Raymer was a one hit wonder who was just running very lucky in all the coin flip situations that he got into, apparently I was wrong and I can't wait for ESPN to televise this year's event. I think they do a very good job with it. |

| I honestly think that Raymer is one of the better tournament players around. His win in 2004 was less a Moneymaker story (the one-hit wonder) and more a case of a regional pro unknown to most of the poker world finally earning respect. Raymer has been playing in bigger games at Foxwoods for some time, and in fact has earned investors a significant profit over several contracts. He's a deep thinker, and places a premium on making the best decision at any given point. Not many players give the kind of dedication to poker that Raymer does.
