Default Proposal - important

hello.. i want to propose one thing.. last night we played a league with 12 players. It was really good game, congrats to all the participants, and to elon and pedro finished in points. I want to welcome pedro, new player who played in first bbp event. Everybody was attacked him how he is playing and that stuff, he told he recieved the email a week ago, now i checked my mailbox and saw that i recieved that email too with password for buy-in there. I think it was sent to all BBP members. He played good game, finished in 3rd place and made points. He is spanish, so he doesn't know english language very well. When i signed first time in BBP forum, i started to read posts and most of the posts (like those in hand analysis) were complicated to me. I wasn't so good with "poker terminology" and i wanted to answer, but i couldn't because my english wasn't perfect The good purpose of forums is that i continue to learn english besides of poker, too I have a friend too who really likes playing hold'em (he saw it from me ) and he would be very active in forums, but he can't learn more about holdem, and participate in forum events because he doesn't know english. I have that luck because i learnt english in school for 12 years. I don't see the persons who pay 5,5$ buy-in in game with 12+ players where only top 3 gets paid (and that game is with 12+ really good players) like a freeroll chaser and sponger. He only wanted to play a good game. My propose is to give the token for freeroll on sunday for all active buy-in league event players from non-english spoken region, because they can't make their qualification posts. Otherwise itsn't fair and they (i'm talking about Perdo in this case) have lower chances to do well in the league.

I think the point of the league is to have a friendly atmosphere and more players. I'm proposing this because i know that problem (i had the similar one until i learnt english good) so i'm 100% on his side what do you guys think ?

I do agree with you abot it is hard for non english speaking players to make the requirments but i dont think we can let all non english ppl off with this. Padro is ok. I mean i would love to play in some of those spanish and german leagues but i only speack english so i cant play in them. Every language has their leagues. So i dont think ppl should use langueage as an ecuse to get a password for free.

BUT give padro the password. I also think it should go for all players who play in the buyin. If we are playing in the buyin we should get the freeroll password no matter what. But we all seem to make the requirments for the password so no problem

I'm not in the favor of making any changes in the league that could later have different opinions. That being said, for the next league we will allow more ways to earn points in the forums. This should help all non-English speakers and those who visit the forum often but don't like writing much.

I agree, there are other Forums that he can join that post in Spanish. He can also just go to the Player's Lounge and try posting in Spanish and see if any other members can converse with him. I do like BBP's philosophy of sticking to the original rules and tweaking them in the next league. It is very fair to all. But for me .... no habla.

I have peeked into other German and Spanish forums and forget it. I couldn't understand Bo Didley.

I think Pedro is doing fine now. Since the buy in he has made several posts in the forum. Some of them may not have the best of grammar but they are clear enough that you get the idea of what he is trying to say. I think everything will work out fine and Pedro will qualify for the freeroll events.

With all of us knowing that English is not his first language, I think we all can work with him to understand what he is posting. I hope that he does continue to play in the league, both the buy-in and freerolls. I sat at the same table with him to start, he is a good player and I look forward to playing against the best!

Thumbs up Proposal

I vote to give Pedro the password if he plays in the buy-in league. If he wasn't serious about representing BBP he wouldn't pay to play. Then, maybe he can use the money from his winnings to hire a tutor to teach him english.

I agree with this, none of the german/spanish sites would gave out the pws to me when i couldn't communicate with them in their language and i think this site should do the same. Also from what i've been told(it may be wrong from teachers) that it is uncommon for a european not to know english.
